Loose Ends: Last (and Slowest) News Week of the Year Edition
  • Good News! We probably won't post again about Gibson-gate until next year...after this article.
  • The Gyllenhaals narrowly escape a Christmas disaster. Perhaps they should have gone out for Chinese.
  • If the succession of Ray, Walk the Line, and Dreamgirls has left you wanting a music film with a little more shmaltz in it, the "Jewish boys who loved Bob Dylan" might be able to help you out.
  • Someone should send Borat a link to this website: the Conspiracy Theory Generator . These conspiracies aren't all Jew-specific; you can make a conspiracy blaming just about anyone. Whew.
  • Sadly, the buzz about Tom Cruise and his Scientology movie isn't true (who wouldn't go see that movie?). Just ask Posh, who was rumored to be playing an alien in the film.

Loose Ends

  • This Jew might be in for a surprise if the angry Seattle Rabbi finds out what she's done.
  • Everyone is mad at Madonna. Guy Richie, Stella McCartney, and probably PETA too.
  • Adam Levine. As if eight days of Chanukah weren't enough of a miracle, he needs three women too?
  • Maybe Levine should talk to Scarlett Johannson. Looks like she was being honest about her policies on open relationships.

Loose ends

  • Judith Regan admits there's a cabal ... just not sure it's a Jewish one.
  • And speaking of anti-Semites, Mel Gibson says his drunken rant was a gift.
  • Looks like Dov Charney is selling American Apparel.
  • All of his sitcoms may be getting canceled, but that's not keeping Jeffrey Tambor down. The 62-year-old actor and his wife just gave birth to a baby girl ... two years to the day of the birth of their baby boy.
  • And President Bush goes where the Seattle airport dare not go ... Jew-ville.

They said it

From today's NY Daily News:

Sacha Baron Cohen has been trying to call Borat to tell him about their film's two Golden Globe nominations. Unfortunately, Cohen says, "for the last four hours, both of Kazakhstan's telephones have been engaged. Eventually, President Nazarbayev answered and said he would pass on the message as soon as Borat returned from Iran, where he is guest of honor at the Holocaust Denial Conference."

They said it

"We were going to be wearing thongs but the stylist snipped them off. Here we are, Keira and I, and we're totally naked, and some guy is on his BlackBerry computer. Everyone was busy working. But I guess it's better than if they were all looking at me. It was surprisingly comfortable." -- Scarlett Johansson on appearing in the nude on the upcoming February cover of Vanity Fair.

  • Scientology is trying to get its grips into Jim Carrey and Jennifer Lopez.
  • For those of you who can't get enough of David Krumholtz in CBS' Num3ers, he's starring in what appears to be a sweet romantic dramedy. Enjoy the trailer.
  • And speaking of movie trailers, here's Jake Gyllenhaal in Zodiac.
  • AJL classifieds: Spielberg is hiring.

Loose ends
  • How white is your Jesus?
  • Meet a rabbi who has nothing better to do with his time than sue airports for putting up Christmas trees. Oy.
  • Madonna's baby daddy doesn't want the kid to have a bris.
  • Brett Ratner's bubbe is getting her own reality show. You can make this stuff up, people.
  • Forget about whether to go HD, Blu-Ray, or dump your entire DVD collection altogether. A lawsuit may stop you from getting the Borat DVD at all.
