Aaron Spelling, baruch dayan haemet
 The AP reports:
Aaron Spelling, a onetime movie bit player who created a massive number of hit series, from the vintage “Charlie’s Angels” and “Dynasty” to “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Melrose Place,” died Friday, his publicist said. He was 83.
Spelling died at his home in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke on June 18, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki.
Spelling’s other hit series included “Love Boat,” “Fantasy Island,” “Burke’s Law,” “The Mod Squad,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “T.J. Hooker,” “Matt Houston,” “Hart to Hart” and “Hotel.” He kept his hand in 21st-century TV with series including “7th Heaven” and “Summerland.” And, of course, his lasting legacy to our world also includes the incomparable Tori Spelling.

"There are so many myths about what I have done with girls on the road. … With this one lady, we were on the second floor of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, and you can ask a beautiful girl who is naked almost anything and if she is in the right frame of mind, she will do it. As Machiavelli said, to have power is to abuse it, so I said to her, 'Climb out to the end of that flagpole naked. I want to take a picture of you instead of the flag.' And she did, naked. … Another time a girl was talking too loud and she would not shut up, so I gaffer-taped her mouth shut and gaffer-taped her to a chair and then sent her down to the lobby in the elevator naked." -- Gene Simmons on his infamous sexual antics.
