One of these things is not like the other: Last week Jewsweek was asked to attend a hot Los Angeles soiree hosted by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding. The party, held at the swank home of producer Steve Rifkind, was abuzz with A-list celebs including Red Dragon director Brett Ratner, American Idol judge Randy Jackson, and famed film legend Robert Evans. The event was honoring Jews and Blacks to help promote interracial harmony. One person who, um, couldn't make the event was co-host Russell Simmons who had to stay on the East Coast due to some new legal trouble.
We did manage to snag a few pics while there including this one of (from left to right): Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Randy Jackson and Rabbi Marc Schneier.
All we can say is that it was pretty good timing: Strom Thurmond, who wasn't such a big fan of both Jews and Blacks, died two days later.
